Duane Border Design strives to design landscape environments that tap into the imagination of the communities that use them.

We believe in the restorative qualities of landscape design and its ability to restore, refresh, and renew daily lives by carefully crafting spaces to immerse people in the natural environment, create opportunities to meet, interact and form associations at home, school and work. We create spaces to see, be seen, and engage with nature.

We are adept at developing unique design solutions to overcome the challenges of urban environments, often struggling to make the most of limited spaces, while maintaining the romance of the garden. Our experience, passion, and commitment to a joyful process has created strong, long lasting relationships with collaborators, clients, and communities.

Brett Miller is a landscape architect with experience in creating landscape designs that celebrate the Southern California lifestyle and contribute to its unique environment. He studies project conditions from multiple points-of-view to find thoughtful solutions to the most complicated challenges.

Cuiyan Mei is an award-winning landscape designer with extensive experience throughout the design process. Cuiyan brings her diverse educational background and experiences to design efforts and technical drawings, integrating globally recognized practices in her work in creating contemporary landscape environments.

Marco Chio brings a passion for creating sustainable environments to his work at Duane Border Design. Utilizing an extensive background in horticultural methods, plant identification, care and use of sustainable materials, Marco incorporates a vast array of techniques and practices into his work.
